How To Get Your Learner's Permit

To obtain your Learner's Permit you must:

Be 15 years of age and enrolled in a High School Driver Education program, or be 16 years of age
Bring two forms of identification (not photocopies) with you
Take a vision test
Take a knowledge (written) test, including road signs and rules of the road
If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the application form.
Once you have your Learner's Permit, which is valid for two years, you must complete your driver education requirement, which includes:

30 hours of classroom time
6 hours behind the wheel
Conditions With a Learner's Permit:
Until you pass your road test, you must drive with a fully-licensed driver in the passenger seat and observe the following restrictions and rules:

The accompanying driver must hold a Class 5 driver's license (for at least one year) and be capable of driving the vehicle is you re unable.
Your blood alcohol content cannot be above 0.04%
The Road Test
During your road test, you will be tested on:

Driving situations and rules of the road, including starting, stopping, turning, passing vehicles, and land driving
Driving through controlled and uncontrolled intersections
Parallel parking and backing up
Anticipation of hazardous conditions
Other safe driving practices like driving the right speed and steering techniques
