YD Supporting Communities
Leaning on each other and drawing strength from our community is an asset during this time. For each full-course purchase, YD will donate $50 to CanadaHelps.org to support COVID-19 relief efforts across Canada. These donations will be matched by the Gore Mutual Foundation to further the reach. CanadaHelps funds are split between healthcare/hospital and community care.
As our company responds to COVID-19, the health and safety of our employees and customers remains our top priority. In keeping with community-based social distancing measures, YD has made the decision to postpone all in-class and in-car training effective immediately across all locations. Our eLearning program (4h) is available for students who are interested in continuing their training during this time, as well as those who are interested in enrolling in the near future.
Here is how you can find our Young Drivers Kamloops Driving School location:
At Kamloops Young Drivers we use a professional office space to teach our classroom sessions. Our driving school is located at 201-444 Victoria St. The building is named the Highlander buiding. We are a quick walk from the Lansdowne Bus Exchange so for those students coming to us on transit we have excellent access. Please note that this is a training facility only.
We are right across the street from the Library and Kamloops Art Gallery. Take the elevator up to the second floor, hang a left and look for the YD sign on the door! We look forward to seeing you!
YD is passionate about anyone who wants to learn how to drive. It is never to late to start and never to early to learn.
Young Drivers of Canada has a philosophy when it comes to collisions, which is that accidents are predictable and preventable. What this translates to is that the majority of the consequences of an crash can be avoided, including fatalities, injuries and specifically, insurance claims. Young Drivers of Canada implements this strategy in their course curriculum by providing their Collisionfree!Ⓡ Approach to driving program.
Through this approach Young Drivers of Canada teaches its students effective seeing habits and how to predict and avoid any potential hazards experienced on a day to day basis when driving. Students are put through situations that can be seen as high risk with their instructors and are taught to identify those risks. More importantly, correction and ultimately better driving skills incorporating the Collisionfree!Ⓡ principles are learned for application on the roads for a lifetime.
