Young Drivers - The driver training program that is right for you:

  • Patient, qualified Instructors
  • City & highway driving
  • Emergency maneuvers included
  • Courses or individual lessons
  • Road Test packages!

Even before drivers get behind the wheel, extensive classroom instruction from YD's annually re-certified instructors will teach the exclusive YD Habits and Sub-Habits, focusing on skills they'll need to stay collisionfree!  In-Class instructors teach skills like freeway/highway driving, head-on collision avoidance, gravel shoulder drop-off, rear crash avoidance - just to name a few.  Classrooms are Closed Captioned for the hearing impaired.  The online-based Cognifit! program helps you to enhance your cognitive skills so students become better drivers.

The in-car instruction is taught privately, one-on-one without peer pressure in a current model, dual controlled car.  Specialized equipment on certain modified vehicles at Young Drivers may include hand controls and various devices to enable driving for those with physical disabilities.

Driving Assessments

Tool for Assessing Driver’s Risk of Crash
Worried about the senior drivers in your family?  Wonder if they are safe to drive?  On the YD website, we feature CogniFit - Senior Driver, an online cognitive assessment that can help determine the risk of crash. The CogniFit program also includes training to possibly reduce that risk. We also provide in-car assessments that can help seniors understand modern driving techniques or prepare for government re-testing.

Rehabilitation Options

We work with clients to help them get behind the wheel again. We work with rehabilitation clinics and occupational therapists across the country providing driver competency assessments and hand controls training in many cities.

Free Online Learner’s Practice Test

If you know someone going for their G1 (learner’s permit) or have a client who could use a rules of the road refresher, please direct them to our website to take this free test for a spin.
